Are you really looking for one of the best CD’s you could ever purchase? Stop looking… “Larry Gold Presents Don Cello and Friends,” is the %#%$! Don’t walk, run and go get this gem. Larry Gold an accomplished cellist, but more than that, a super songwriter, producer and artist really hit one out of the park with this CD. Larry does his work in yes “the city of brotherly love.” You know how I feel about Philadelphia! It’s more than just the best hoagies in the world (it’s got to be the oil and vinegar); it just seems to be the birthplace of indisputably splendid soul music. Larry Gold’s work is no exception. He put together a compilation dissimilar from all the rest. He’s got artists like, Erro (see previous blog entry), Floetry, Jaguar Wright, the late and great Gerald Levert, Bunny Sigler, Black Thought (The Roots), Mcfadden & Whitehead (remember “Ain’t no Stopping Us Now), Carol Riddick, etc. This compilation is not to be mistaken. Do not call yourself a lover of soul music and not have this CD in your collection!!!!
